Orlando Bear Bust, October 1999

Bear Bust is somewhat unique as Bear event weekends go, because most of everything occurs outdoors in the tepid Fall weather of central Florida.  The two main venues are the pool area about the HoJo and the large tree covered back area of the Full Moon Saloon.  I also participated in the optional day trip to Universal’s Islands of Adventure, which was another entertaining and diverting outdoor bit of fun.

Luckily, Orlando was only brushed by meandering Hurricane Irene in a busy and long hurricane season.  This provided a more varied weather weekend than the hundreds of revelers would have liked, but it could have been a washout, and that is was not.  For me as a photographer I would have preferred more of that fabled Florida sunshine, but we had a fair amount of that as well as the wind and the rain.  See what you think!
