There was more to Key West than just the pool.  Over the course of the weekend, I went reef snorkeling for the first time, mopeding with bears about the island, cruising on a glass bottom boat, toured Hemingway's Key West home, inspected Mel Fisher's gold and silver booty dredged up from sunken galleons, petted stingrays and horseshoe crabs in the Key West Aquarium, shopped the Duval St. retail strip and hit a few tasty restaurants along the way, and had some great Key Lime Pie (of course).
